The N, mbuzzy launch "Teens Everywhere" panel
MTV Networks' teen channel The N announced a partnership with online research firm OTX and mobile community provider mbuzzy to create "Teens Everywhere," a wireless research panel developed to offer MTV and its advertisers insight into the lucrative teen market.
Scheduled for launch in January 2007, "Teens Everywhere" will conduct live demographic research via mobile handset while creating a new online community fostering viewer interaction. OTX will recruit 10,000 young people from the existing mbuzzy and The-N.com communities to participate in the panel. Participants also will be given access to The N promotional content through a new social networking microsite, and encouraged to create and share content with other panelists.
"'Teens Everywhere' will enable us to monitor and gather information from young people using their primary means of communication--cell phones," said The N's vice president of research and planning Radha Subramanyam in a prepared statement. "This process will allow us to communicate directly with our demo, whenever and wherever they are, to get their 'life story' in a way that is most endemic to them."
The N is currently available in 54 million households via cable, digital cable and satellite. The network airs daily from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. EST.
