Handset giant Nokia, multimedia production firm Whizz Kid Entertainment and British public broadcaster Channel 4 announced a partnership to launch The Nokia Green Room, a new Channel 4 live music showcase complemented by exclusive tracks and outtakes available via the Nokia Music Store. Debuting in April, The Nokia Green Room will air on Channel 4 for 15 weeks; in addition to each half-hour episode, Whizz Kid will produce additional performances, artist interviews and teasers for download exclusively on Nokia handsets and through the Nokia Music Store retail site. According to MarketingWeek, The Nokia Green Room's pilot episode aired on Channel 4 last year, spotlighting acts Girls Aloud, The Feeling and Orson--the show earned a 5.8 percent audience share, attracting more than 600,000 viewers.
