THQ debuts 'Star Wars: Vader Yourself' voice app
If you've ever wanted to sound like James Earl Jones--and really, who hasn't?--mobile entertainment provider THQ Wireless introduced Star Wars: Vader Yourself, a new iPhone and iPod touch application enabling users to adjust their recorded voice to imitate the Dark Lord of the Sith, complete with breathing effects. Priced at 99 cents, Star Wars: Vader Yourself features adjustable settings to control pitch, speed and tempo--users can name, rename and save recorded Darth Vader files, share files via email and connect directly with Facebook.
THQ Wireless also issued Star Wars: Trench Run 2.0, an updated version of its iPhone game incorporating Infrared5's Brass Monkey, a solution that connects multiple devices over WiFi to enable consumers to use their smartphone as a controller for gaming on larger-screen units like televisions and PCs. THQ first introduced Star Wars: Trench Run in late 2009--the updated edition, priced at $4.99, adds new mission levels, updated graphics and lighting features as gamers dogfight with TIE fighters in an effort to destroy the Death Star.
