Thumbplay and Qloud team for ringtone service
Mobile entertainment content provider Thumbplay announced a partnership with social music service Qloud to contextually feature ringtones throughout each deployment of Qloud's My Music application, enabling users across a variety of social networks to discover, purchase and download ringtones via more than 2,000 compatible mobile handsets. Per terms of the deal, the My Music service will feature "Buy this ringtone" links alongside links to iTunes and YouTube on song, artist, album and playlist pages. My Music enables consumers to see and play entire songs and videos from their personal iTunes libraries inside of a range of social networks, as well as access, view and exchange iTunes playlists with friends--according to Qloud, over two million registered users across a series of social networks have recorded 300 million plays in the last four months.
