Total Immersion scores $5.5M to drive augmented reality development
Augmented reality solutions developer Total Immersion closed a $5.5 million funding round led by Intel Capital, with existing investors Partech, iSource and Elaia Partners also participating. Total Immersion's patented D'Fusion software solution integrates real-time interactive 3D graphics into a live video stream, enabling contextual computing experiences across smartphones, tablets and the desktop. The firm said the new funding will support continued D'Fusion development--in addition, Total Immersion plans to expand its operations in the U.S. and Asia, building up its ranks of developer partners and exploring new consumer market opportunities.
