Tools

Mobile video solutions provider Transpera announced video integration and mobile advertising agreements with NBC Universal-owned news and information brands MSNBC and The Weather Channel. Transpera will power video delivery and ad insertion for both cable networks' mobile web efforts: The Weather Channel promises users video forecasts for 100 U.S. cities, all updated throughout the day, as well as national forecasts, top stories, weekend outlooks, regional forecasts spanning nine U.S. areas, severe weather reports and travel-specific conditions. Beginning in March 2009, the msnbc.com mobile site will deliver NBC News video as well as new advertising capabilities (e.g., targeted ads like 5- to 15-second pre-roll videos and display ads) alongside its existing breaking news updates, sports scores, political commentary, travel updates and local news coverage.
