Transpera rakes in $8.25 million in Series B

Mobile video services provider Transpera announced the completion of a Series B financing round totaling $8.25 million. Flybridge Capital Partners led the round, with fellow existing investors Intel Capital and First Round Capital as well as new investor Labrador Ventures also participating. Transpera, which provides delivery and advertising solutions enabling customers to monetize web video for the mobile platform, counts among its brand partners MTV Networks, CBS News, The Associated Press, AccuWeather.com, Discovery Communications, Fox Reality Channel and Travel Channel--the firm said the new financing round is earmarked to help expand the product line and service customers. In addition, Transpera named Brian Monnin chief product officer--his responsibilities will include product management, design, marketing and product strategy.
