Tremor Media scoops up mobile video ad platform Transpera
Online video advertising network Tremor Media is expanding to the mobile channel, acquiring mobile video advertising solutions provider Transpera for an undisclosed sum. Transpera delivers interactive display banners, pre-roll videos, overlay ads and other ad formats across the mobile web as well as smartphone platforms like iOS, Android and BlackBerry--publisher partners include CBS News, Discovery Communications, MTV Networks and Showtime. The firm has raised a total of $17.3 million in venture funding.
Digital research firm comScore states that Tremor Media served 1.02 billion streaming ad views in December 2010, behind only video aggregator site Hulu; its reach extends to 28.6 percent of the total U.S. population. Tremor reports that its revenues are on pace to top $100 million in 2011.
