Twistbox scores $19.5 million in venture financing

Mobile content producer and publisher Twistbox Entertainment announced the completion of a $19.5 million round of financing led by an affiliate of ValueAct Capital and other strategic investors. According to Twistbox, the capital infusion is targeted to launch new products including "Web2Mobile Storefronts," "Play4Prizes" and mobile advertising initiatives. "We will also be expanding our direct-to-consumer marketing efforts to take advantage of our rapidly growing traffic and subscriber base," said Ian Aaron, Twistbox CEO. "Our direct agreements with major mobile operators in over 40 countries, category-leading content partners and globally deployed WAP, mobile TV and games platforms have positioned us this year for substantial growth." Twistbox also announced the addition of former Vodafone Global programming chief Graeme Ferguson to its board.
