Txtstation teams with New York Mets on mobile marketing

Tools

Can mobile data services help frustrated New York Mets fans come to terms with their team's disastrous 2009 baseball season? Probably not, but mobile marketing firm Txtstation is still collaborating with Verizon Wireless to launch an interactive in-park mobile campaign targeting fans attending the Mets' Citi Field home games. According to Txtstation, the campaign will include the Verizon Fan Choice Awards, a nightly poll enabling fans to voice their opinion on various Mets topics; the Wise Eight Inning Sing Along, allowing fans to vote on which song should be played during the 8th inning break; Caesar's Fan Forum, a chance for fans to express their take on a pre-determined subject via text message; Xerox Fan Photos, which displays image submissions in a slideshow-like manner; and Txt-of-War, a voting format pitting opposing sides against each other (e.g., the left side of the stadium versus the right side).

Txtstation adds that for all of the promotions, voting results and content are displayed in real time on the Citi Field video board.
