USA Network, JuiceCaster co-star on mobisodes

Tools

Cable's USA Network announced a partnership with social media platform developer JuiceCaster to create "Contestant Mobisodes" in conjunction with the fifth season of its reality showcase "Nashville Star." Finalists will be given multimedia handsets provided by Cricket Mobile to post photos and video clips to the "Nashville Star" Mobisode MediaBox, available via the series' official website as well as the contestants' respective MySpace pages; when new content is uploaded, subscribers will receive text message updates. The promotion is intended to offer viewers glimpses into the contestants' private lives as they compete for a Nashville recording deal.

"Contestants can upload pictures and videos directly from their mobile phones for immediate and massive broadcast exposure to fans," said Juice Wireless founder and chairman Nick Desai in a prepared statement. "We're giving each musician's content ultimate portability by delivering it freely to anyone, anytime, through MediaBox channels--instead of waiting for the fans to seek out the newest, hottest content."
