Verizon adds V-me Spanish-language programs to V Cast Video
Verizon Wireless (NYSE:VZ) announced the addition of Spanish-language programming from public television network V-me to its V Cast Video service. Verizon will offer V-me content for both adults and children, including series like En Pantalla, Hay Alguien Ahi, Cuenta Atrás, Lazytown and Los disfraces de Dougie.
V-me launched in March 2007--the venture brings together the Educational Broadcasting Corporation (parent of New York City's PBS flagship WNET), investment firm the Baeza Group, venture capital firm Syncom Funds and Spanish and Portuguese-language media giant Grupo PRISA. The 24-hour digital broadcast service is now available in over 70 percent of all U.S. Hispanic homes.
V Cast Video on Demand is available for $10 per month. Verizon adds that consumers who sign up prior to May 31 will receive the first month of service for free.
