Verizon debuts Business Ringback Tones

Verizon Wireless announced the introduction of Business Ringback Tones, enabling organizations with mobile contact numbers to replace the generic ring callers hear with customized messages. According to Verizon, Business Ringback Tones provide information specific to the business and can convey information about a firm's products, services or current promotions--the operator also provides access to advertising scriptwriting veterans as well as professional voiceover artists and recording studios, although businesses may also produce their own track. Corporate account administrators can upload and manage 30-second tones on employee phones via Verizon's online Ringback Tone Manager, and create a custom Jukebox that rotates as many as five different messages so callers hear different tones each time they dial. In addition, businesses may use the Ringback Tone Manager to assign tones to different sets of employees, group certain wireless numbers to have the same tones and send SMS alerts to let workers know of changes to the tone profile. Business Ringback Tones are available for $1.99 per month per line.
