Verizon teams with Photobucket for instant image uploads
Verizon Wireless and image/video-sharing website Photobucket announced the availability of Photobucket Mobile Uploader, a new mobile photo-sharing application promising subscribers instant uploads from their mobile devices to their online accounts. Available for download across 13 select Verizon Wireless handsets, the application enables Photobucket members to connect their phone to their online photo album for instant photo transmission--once the accounts are connected, the app automatically uploads any subsequent photos saved to the handset to the same Photobucket account.
Photobucket presently boasts 40 million unique users worldwide, each day linking billions of photos, videos and images on other sites including Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Blogger, Craigslist, eBay, Friendster, Hi5 and Orkut. The company adds that users average over 11 million personal photo, graphics and video uploads each day. According to Verizon, it is the first U.S. operator to offer Photobucket Mobile Uploader, and will charge subscribers $2.99 for unlimited mobile photo uploads.
