Verizon Wireless adds Clear Channel to the Hub
Verizon Wireless announced an agreement with broadcasting behemoth Clear Channel Radio to add 14 CC stations to the Verizon Hub, the operator's new VOIP-based, Linux-powered home phone. Per terms of the Clear Channel deal, the Hub will now offer music, sports, talk and the exclusive Verizon New Music Channel--local CC affiliates featured on the service include New York City's WHTZ-FM, WLTW-FM and WWPR-FM, Los Angeles' KFI-AM and KIIS-FM, Miami's Spanish-language WMGE-FM, an American Top 40 channel hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Fox Sports Radio.
Verizon Wireless also announced a related Hub deal with lifestyle media provider Scripss Networks to offer content from cable television channels HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network and Fine Living Network, promising consumers recipes, expert design tips and related efforts.
