Verizon Wireless debuts Abukai Expenses via V Cast Apps

Verizon Wireless (NYSE:VZ) continues to build out its V Cast Apps mobile storefront, adding business productivity solutions provider Abukai's new Expenses solution. Abukai Expenses enables users to capture and record photos of their business receipts, sidestepping manual key-in processes--once all receipts are documented, customers push the Submit button, and the app automatically generates expense reports complete with cost categorization, date, vendor and other required data. Each report also boasts a PDF document with copies of the receipt images. In addition, corporate account users can input reports directly into existing expense management or accounting systems.

Verizon Wireless subscribers with access to V Cast Apps may download Abukai Expenses from the store's Finance subcategory. The app is free to download, and there's also no charge for the first three expense reports consisting of 10 expense items or fewer. V Cast Apps is available across select Android and BlackBerry smartphones, promising subscribers rigorous software testing protocols as well as direct carrier billing integration. Earlier this year, Verizon Wireless said the storefront offers about 1,000 apps for Android devices and roughly 1,400 for BlackBerry phones. Late last month, Verizon launched the free Chomp search app to help subscribers more efficiently target V Cast Apps content.
