Verizon Wireless debuts Crackle Movies en Espanol
Verizon Wireless (NYSE:VZ) and Sony Pictures Television introduced Crackle Movies en Español, touted as the first Spanish-language premium mobile movie subscription channel available via the operator's V Cast Video platform. Launched within the existing V Cast Video Latino Channel, Crackle Movies en Español touts full-length features from the Columbia Pictures, TriStar Pictures, Sony Pictures Classics and Screen Gems vaults, all in Spanish and minus subtitles; according to Verizon, subscribers can access at least 20 different movies each month, with the first wave of titles including The Cable Guy, Beverly Hills Ninja, The Next Karate Kid and La Bamba. Crackle Movies en Español is available for $5.99 per month, in addition to the $10 monthly subscription for V Cast Video on Demand.
Verizon Wireless added the English-language Crackle Movies subscription service in August 2010, offering Sony-owned content across all V Cast-enabled handsets as well as select BlackBerry and Android smartphones. Subscribers may also access premium content including Crackle Originals (a collection of web series) and Minisodes, which whittle down episodes of classic Sony television hits.
