Verizon Wireless debuts exclusive Green Day live clips
Verizon Wireless announced that six exclusive Green Day video clips filmed during the punk-pop trio's 2009 North American tour are now available via the operator's V Cast Video service as well as Verizon FiOS TV Video on Demand. Verizon Wireless sponsored Green Day's 21st Century Breakdown tour, assigning 13 high-definition cameras to film the band's Aug. 22 date in Phoenix--live performances now available to subscribers include "Time of Your Life," "Know Your Enemy," "Minority," "Jesus of Suburbia," "Brain Stew" and "21st Century Breakdown." In addition, Verizon customers equipped with BlackBerry Tour or Storm smartphones can can text "GD" to 5509 or log onto www.vcastlive.com/gd to access free Green Day music including live renditions of "21 Guns" and "Last of the American Girls" as well as an "East Jesus Nowhere" ringtone and exclusive wallpaper.
In association with the video promotion, Verizon Wireless announced the Green Day Masher Contest, enabling fans to create their own remixes of 21st Century Breakdown tracks. The submission earning the most "props" from subscribers between now and Dec. 31 will win a guitar signed by Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong as well as drummer Tré Cool's box drum kit.
