Verizon Wireless debuts Mobile Web 2.0 redesign

Verizon Wireless introduced a new, redesigned Mobile Web 2.0 portal promising easier access to e-mail, news, sports, weather, and related content from providers including ESPN, Bank of America, USA Today and MapQuest. According to Verizon, Mobile Web 2.0 also delivers a suite of new features and functionalities, among them new content channels, improved search, enhanced graphics, dropdown headlines, 10-button navigation and improved content placement. Customers with capable handsets can self-provision Mobile Web 2.0 via VZW's Get It Now menu--the service is available for $5.00 monthly access, plus airtime, or as a part of the V Cast VPak for $15.00 monthly access.

"The redesign of Mobile Web 2.0 is another example of how we consistently strive to further enhance and simplify our customers' wireless experience," said Lee Daniels, Verizon Wireless vice president of consumer product development. "Customer choice, easy navigation and usability are critical factors that help shape the success of a mobile data service in the marketplace."
