Verizon Wireless inks Taylor Swift content exclusive

Tools

Verizon Wireless announced an agreement with pop star Taylor Swift to offer subscribers a series of content exclusives tied to the singer's first headline tour of the U.S., taking place now through Oct. 10. Most notably, Swift will record three exclusive tracks on the Verizon Mobile Recording Studio Bus, available for over-the-air download via the operator's V Cast Music with Rhapsody service. In addition, Verizon will introduce a text-to-win contest, offering subscribers a chance to win tickets to see Swift in concert--winners will receive bar-coded mobile tickets transmitted directly to their handsets, complete with priority access to the show through a VIP Mobile ticketing entrance. Concert attendees will also have the opportunity to sing a virtual duet with Swift thanks to green-screen technology--Verizon will send video clips to participants' handsets to share with their friends.

Swift's triple-platinum album Fearless is responsible for the hit "Love Story," which according to Verizon ranks as the most downloaded song in country music history. In all, the 19-year-old star has racked up more than 14 million downloads to date, as well as three Gold Mobile Ringtones.
