Verizon Wireless and network infrastructure services provider VeriSign announced the launch of VeriSign Identity Protection Access for Mobile, a new application promising subscribers additional safeguards to secure their personal data. The free VIP Access for Mobile app displays a security code that mobile subscribers can use as a second factor of authentication in addition to usernames and passwords when accessing their online accounts through their phones--each code is a unique, one-time password that changes automatically every 30 seconds. According to Verizon and VeriSign, VIP Access for Mobile is the only two-factor authentication credential certified for the BREW platform.
