Verizon Wireless tees up GPSGolfShot

Verizon Wireless announced the launch of GPSGolfShot, an exclusive application promising golfers real-time yardage readings on more than 10,000 courses across the U.S. According to Verizon, the app--developed by location-based solutions provider GPSGolfShot--enables golfers to simplify club selection and accelerate play by eliminating the need to need to seek out distance markers or pace off yardage. In addition, the "Measure My Shot" function offers distance projections for drivers and irons, offering insight on how to play a shot. GPSGolfShot constantly updates course layouts, and new courses are regularly added--the app is available now for $1.99 per round or $3.99 per month, and annual subscriptions are $34.99.
