Verve Wireless, ABCi team for mobile publishing metrics
Mobile publishing technology provider Verve Wireless announced it will partner with the Audit Bureau of Circulations forum's ABCi interactive unit to measure newspapers' mobile content across the Verve publishing platform, offering news outlets and their advertisers independently verified usage data generated via applications, ereaders and mobile browsers. According to Verve, the data will supply metrics including mobile audience by device type, audience in relation to day and time, access points (i.e. browser or ereader), unique visitors and page views.
Verve states that its platform served more than 160 million mobile news pages in March 2010, a 214 percent year-over-year increase, adding that over 9 million mobile users accessed the platform last month, up 243 percent over a year ago. Consumers have downloaded more than 4 million Verve news apps across operating systems including the iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile, and the firm expects to serve more than 2.2 billion news pages in 2010.
