VH1 Mobile tunes in 'Pop Up Video to Go'
Viacom-owned cable network VH1 announced a made-for-mobile version of its popular Pop Up Video series for launch via the VH1 Mobile channel. Like its on-air predecessor, "Pop Up Video to Go" will feature "info-nuggets"--i.e., graphic factoids that pop onto the screen during music video clips, promising viewers insider info, trivia and production data. Each weekly edition will feature two new "popped" music videos produced specifically for the mobile platform, with pop-ups remaining on the screen for an extended period and appearing in larger fonts. The premiere installment of "Pop Up Video to Go," launching cross-carrier Tuesday, will feature Gwen Stefani's "Holla Back Girl" and Fall Out Boy's "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs"--upcoming editions will include clips from the Beastie Boys, Jay-Z, Amy Winehouse and Feist.
