Video doesn't rock iPod user world
A new report issued by Nielsen Media Research reveals that owners of Apple's iPod rarely employ the portable media device to screen video content, devoting virtually all of their time to listen to music or other audio content like podcasts. In a survey of 400 iPod users conducted between Oct. 1 and Oct. 27, Nielsen found that videos accounted for less than 1 percent of all content items played either on iPods or Apple's iTunes digital media player application; even among owners of video iPod devices, video consumption grows to only 2.2 percent. When measured by duration of consumption, video still comprises just a small percent of total user time; video iPod users consume video 11% of the time. Nielsen also reports that 15.8 percent of iPod users have watched video via either iPod or iTunes, roughly two-thirds of them video iPod owners.
