Virgin Mobile USA opens Contact Vault
Virgin Mobile USA announced the launch of Contact Vault, which enables subscribers with Switch_Back or Cyclops handsets to store, retrieve, delete and transfer their personal contacts lists in the event a device is lost, damaged or upgraded. Contact Vault automatically updates contacts, phone numbers and instant messaging buddy lists as they are added or changed. A supplementary kill feature enables subscribers to wipe clean their contacts if a phone is lost or stolen, while still retaining the data online. After consumers subscribe to the service via handset or the Virgin Mobile USA website, Contact Vault can be set to regularly synchronize contacts lists on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Cost for the service: $1.99 per month.
