Virgin Mobile USA picks up Slifter m-shopping app

Virgin Mobile USA announced an agreement with mobile marketing firm GPShopper to add its Slifter location-aware shopping application. Slifter employs LBS technology to enable mobile users to search more than 300 million products at more than 150,000 local and online retailers, browse price and availability and receive detailed directions to the nearest store. In addition to alerting shoppers of hot deals in their vicinity, the app also enables users to create mobile shopping lists and share savings and coupons with friends and family. Slifter is now available free on all Virgin Mobile USA phones via the VirginXL portal and the mobile web.
