Vivendi debuts 'Surviving Hollywood' UGC contest

Tools

Publisher Vivendi Games Mobile announced a contest seeking original user-generated content promoting its latest title, "Surviving Hollywood." The contest calls upon aspiring screenwriters to pitch unique "Surviving Hollywood" episodes to secure a chance to win a personalized in-game character, a trip for two to Hollywood and a MOTOKRZR K1 handset. To enter, participants can submit their written pitch online or send it via text message--submissions will be posted on a "Surviving Hollywood" Web blog. The contest begins Monday and runs through 12:00 p.m. PST on September 3.

"Surviving Hollywood," an extension of the hit "Surviving High School" franchise, enables mobile gamers to play out Hollywood-centric scenarios and storylines, working their way up the ladder by auditioning for parts, networking at nightclubs and working day jobs. The game's outcome is dictated by the player's choices and storylines are refreshed via weekly "update packs" downloaded directly to the handset. "Enabling mobile subscribers to truly contribute to the creation of fresh content for the games they enjoy is a tremendous opportunity for not only the gamers themselves, but the industry as a whole," said Oliver Miao, general manager of Vivendi Games Mobile's Centerscore Studio.
