Vlingo now available on BlackBerry devices
Vlingo, the speech recognition application that enables users to search the Web and send and receive emails and text messaging using its voice engine has made its application available on BlackBerry devices such as the Pearl and the 8800 series. The company plans to add more devices to the portfolio in the third and fourth quarter.
The vlingo app is available to users free with the hope the application can gain greater traction in the market. Vlingo president and CEO Dave Grannan says the firm wants to have about 400,000 to 500,000 users of its application within the next year. The goal is to get a large base of users for the application so the firm can get support from operators.
