Vodafone debuts unlimited mobile web pricing plans

Tools

Vodafone UK announced it will alter its monthly pricing structure to automatically include unlimited mobile web and email access, eliminating the need for subscribers to purchase an additional Internet bundle. According to the operator, the move is prompted by the growing popularity of social networking sites like Facebook and Bebo among Vodafone Mobile Internet users. Vodafone plans will now start at £25 (roughly $50 U.S.); customers who select price plans beginning at £40/$79 will also enjoy unlimited texting, unlimited landline calls or unlimited calls to other Vodafone subscribers.

Vodafone UK also published data on VMI usage patterns and behaviors. The operator notes Facebook is the most popular search term among subscribers, followed by Bebo, eBay and Windows Live Hotmail. Facebook is also the most-visited mobile website among Vodafone consumers, followed in order by Google, BBC, MSN and Bebo. MySpace ranked eighth overall, with YouTube in 10th.
