VZ Navigator goes global
Verizon Wireless launched a global version of its VZ Navigator service that lets travelers in North America and Western Europe find locations and access turn-by-turn directions. The service initially is available on the BlackBerry Storm but will be added to other devices. In addition, the company says more countries will be added throughout the year.
The service is available in English and Spanish and miles or kilometers can be used to mark distances. But finding your way around foreign countries isn't cheap. The global version of VZ Navigator costs $19.99 per month and customers are encouraged to have an unlimited global email plan as global pay-per-use charges will apply when downloading or using the application.
