Warner Music closes deal with China Unicom
Warner Music Group (WMG) has inked a deal with China Unicom to sell music to the carrier's 130 million users. Warner Music is reportedly in talks with China Mobile as well. WMG's executive VP Alex Zubillaga said of the deal: "China is one of the largest mobile markets, with over 400 million wireless customers and, combined with the secure distribution of wireless networks in a market where piracy is a problem, makes this deal an important part of our strategy."
