Warner Music, HBO Mobile enter pact

Warner Music Group's Rhino division is expanding its reach into the mobile services arena through a deal with HBO Mobile. Rhino, which focuses on marketing the label's current and back catalog of artists, will provide a suite of music-related assets to the HBO Mobile service. Content includes ringtones, ringback tones, and eventually full-song downloads, the company said.

Rhino is the division that repackages all of WMG's catalog of entertainment rights onto various platforms, such as DVD, and increasingly, mobile. Last year it began creating and distributing voice tones for Donald Trump, and more recently added Alan King to the mix. It more recently began bringing the Krofft brothers children's shows as ringtones. There's no end in site, so expect Rhino to continue to nudging aside the installed base of mobile content aggregators.
