WeatherBug forecasts new BlackBerry app

Meteorological information service provider WeatherBug announced the launch of a free, ad-supported application for Research In Motion's BlackBerry Storm and BlackBerry Bold smartphones, promising users "always on" National Weather Service alerts with GPS capabilities, live temperature conditions on their home screen and neighborhood weather information spanning more than 45,000 locations worldwide. According to WeatherBug, the BlackBerry app features seven-day and hourly forecasts, detailed radar and maps,
daily National Weather Outlook broadcasts provided by WeatherBug meteorologists and time-lapse animations from more than 2,000 weather cameras in the U.S.

In addition, the WeatherBug app integrates maps, enabling BlackBerry users to check the weather of any city or area on the map by clicking on it. Users may also set up new locations by pulling address information from their BlackBerry Address Book as well as share current weather information, forecasts, alerts and camera views with their contacts.
