Whrrl enhances social discovery with local events

Consumer technology solutions developer Pelago announced its Whrrl social discovery service will add support for local events, enabling users to discover and share regional information and experience with friends and communities on the web and on mobile.

The new feature promises access to local events like concerts, exhibits, movies and plays by searching names, dates, venues and geography; Whrrl will also feature lists of events users' friends are interested in attending. Whrrl shares user-contributed information through the "Whrrld Feed," a real-time microblogging feature enabling users to check in via SMS, the Whrrl mobile application or the Whrrl website to instantly update their location or status.
