Wireless Execs: Mobile TV still years away
Forget what analysts think, even wireless industry executives are treading carefully around the early adoption of mobile TV services. According to a survey of mobile industry professionals by Mercer Management Consulting, seven out of 10 don't believe that mobile TV will capture any sort of critical mass in the next three years. Each of those subscribers who do tune in will generate only $5 of extra average monthly revenue by 2009. Surprisingly, there was no consensus on whether mobile phones will replace the iPod in the next three years.
