WMG charges Rhino with digital distribution

Tools

Warner Music Group announced it will assign global catalog operations to its Rhino subsidiary, heralding a series of mobile and online initiatives that will digitize much of the label's catalog for international distribution. Rhino, which already handles the Warner archives in the U.S., will next week launch its first-ever dedicated wireless service in Japan, targeting the 30-and-over demographic with full-track downloads and mastertones from more than 200 WMG acts. Rhino will also expand its Songs You Know mobile campaign, which boasts classic catalog ringtones, full-track downloads and videos.
