Yahoo debuts voice-enabled oneSearch for iPhone
Yahoo announced the launch of voice-enabled oneSearch services in conjunction with its Yahoo Mobile iPhone application, promising users the tools to search for anything from flight numbers to local restaurants to websites via verbal query. In addition, the Yahoo Mobile iPhone app enables voice customization of the "My Interests" tab--users click the "Add Anything" button, speak the topic they're interested in and select the relevant content to add it to their page. The web services giant adds the Yahoo oneSearch with voice app is also launching across new BlackBerry devices including the Bold, Storm, Flip and Javelin, and is now available across more than 80 different devices spanning multiple operating systems.
Yahoo additionally announced that its Yahoo oneSearch shortcut for Windows Mobile in 21 countries. The WinMo client debuted in February for U.S. subscribers in conjunction with a host of new shortcut features including an auto-locate feature using cell tower triangulation and WiFi to detect the user's location as well as enhanced Search Assist incorporating the user's recent search history.
