Yahoo expands mobile search efforts
Yahoo announced a series of new features for its oneSearch mobile search service, including voice search, an auto-locate feature that exploits cell tower triangulation and WiFi to detect the user's location, enhanced Search Assist that incorporates previous requests and a client for Windows Mobile devices. According to the web services giant, Yahoo oneSearch Shortcut enables one-click access to oneSearch services; with the addition of voice search, users may now speak or type their query directly from the device homescreen. In addition, Yahoo oneSearch can now determine the user's whereabouts and provide contextual results.
Yahoo oneSearch is now available for WinMo, BlackBerry and Nokia devices. Yahoo adds the service is now up and running on select handsets in the Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan markets as well.
