Yahoo, MobiTV team on mobile ads
News from CTIA Wireless 2007: Internet giant Yahoo announced a partnership with mobile broadcast service provider MobiTV to launch a new mobile advertising alliance. Yahoo will serve as the ad network partner for MobiTV's mobile video ad sales and delivery efforts, promising advertisers a fully integrated service across all mobile advertising platforms, including video, text and banner ads. The first ads will go live this year.
"Clearly this alliance provides a broad spectrum of value," said MobiTV's VP of advertising Jack Hallahan in a prepared statement. "As we progress, we will deploy additional features including next-generation interactivity, location-awareness and click-to-act, maximizing the currency this alliance offers brand advertisers while providing consumers a relevant and meaningful experience." Yahoo also announced the launch of Yahoo Mobile Publisher Services, a suite created to enable content publishers access to its Mobile Ad Network, Mobile Content Engine, Mobile Media Directory and Mobile Site Submit services. - Jason
