Yahoo promotes mobile chief David Ko to audience head
Yahoo is promoting senior vice president of mobile David Ko to the position of senior vice president of audience and mobile for North America, expanding his responsibilities to include heading up development of the web services giant's News, Sports, Finance and Entertainment properties. In addition, Yahoo said Ko will lead efforts to integrate mobile services more tightly into the rest of its business.
Ko was named to lead Yahoo Mobile in February 2009, days after the resignation of Marco Boerries, executive vice president of Yahoo's Connected Life division. Ko previously led Yahoo's global mobile business operations--his resume also includes a stint as managing director for Yahoo Mobile's Asia Pacific business, where he was charged with marketing, engineering, product development and nurturing the firm's regional partnerships along with supervising the deployment and distribution of mobile-first services and advertising solutions.
