Zed acquires Player X
Spanish mobile content firm Zed Group announced it will acquire mobile media publisher and distributor Player X. A Zed spokesperson tells C21 Media.net that published reports the company spent $15 million on Player X are incorrect--the true sum was not disclosed, although Zed indicates it will assume Player X's investment plans and support its future financial needs. Player X supplies mobile content and games to international operator partners including Vodafone, O2, Orange and Telefónica Móviles--its content licensing agreements include deals with Universal, Endemol and Paramount.
