Zed to power U.S. Cellular's mobile content storefront
Mobile entertainment provider Zed announced an agreement to deploy its Master Content Service Provider platform to power regional operator U.S. Cellular's Tone Room Deluxe content storefront. According to Zed, all content in the new Tone Room Deluxe is accessible to subscribers via the web, BREW and smartphone platforms--consumers can purchase products a la carte or sign up for monthly ringtone and ringback subscriptions, with additional content offered at a discounted rate. The MCSP also enables U.S. Cellular subscribers to assign ringback tones to individuals and groups within their contact list.
Zed now operates in 61 international markets, holding agreements with more than 150 mobile operators worldwide. Close to three dozen carriers have now deployed the MCSP.
