Zed purges MonsterMob board post-merger
When the MonsterMob/LaNetro Zed saga finally concludes, someone needs to produce a telenovela documenting all its dramatic twists and turns. The latest: Upon completing the £34 million merger between the two mobile content providers, Zed execs ousted MonsterMob's board of directors, including chairman Hans Snook, and invited exiled founder Martin Higginson to rejoin the company.
With the completion of the deal, Zed/MonsterMob now operates in 31 countries, with a staff of more than 1200. "Today's decision is testament to the strength of our reputation and established track record for being one of the leading global players and innovators in this industry," said LaNetro Zed chairman and CEO Javier Perez Dolset in a prepared statement issued following the Friday shareholder vote that ratified the proposed merger. "MonsterMob's shareholders have recognized that LaNetro Zed's offer is best placed to move the business forward, for the benefit of all shareholders, from a firmer financial foundation. This is a strategically important investment for LaNetro Zed as it will allow us to exploit opportunities in markets where MonsterMob has built a strong business including China, USA, Russia and the UK."
