Zong, Boku debut rival Android payment solutions
Rival digital payment service providers Zong and Boku separately announced new solutions promising developers the tools to add in-app payment options to their Android smartphone applications. Zong's private beta promises one-click purchases inside applications without user registration or log-in--instead, the Zong platform automatically verifies the consumer, bills their mobile operator account and returns them to their app or game with minimal delay. Android developers can request a private beta invitation here--upon approval, developers can download the Zong Android SDK to begin integrating the payment solution. Zong adds it will work with participating developers to guarantee a successful user experience.
As for the Boku solution, it too offers one-tap, in-app purchases via operator billing, without user registration, login or password. The solution, spanning 60 countries, supports Android versions 1.5 through 2.1. Developers can request the alpha version of the Boku Payments SDK here; participating developers will have access to the SDK before it goes live on the Android platform.
