Zoove extends StarStar Numbers campaigns to Sprint, T-Mobile
Mobile marketing solutions provider Zoove expanded its StarStar Numbers marketing initiative to Sprint (NYSE:S) and T-Mobile USA, extending the platform's reach across all four major U.S. operator networks. StarStar Numbers are vanity mobile numbers between two and 12 digits (e.g., **BRAND/**27263) that connect mobile subscribers with advertisers regardless of handset model--consumers dial the number in question, and Zoove pushes mobile apps, web pages, coupons and videos directly to their phone, circumventing the need for 2D barcode readers or cross-carrier text short codes. After the initial phone call, consumers receive a text message or voice mail prompting further engagement with the marketer--depending on their handset capabilities, they can opt in to view websites and download apps, with standard data charges applying.
Zoove is the exclusive provider of StarStar Numbers in the U.S. Brands or advertisers looking to create or use a StarStar Number must first register the campaign with the company--in addition, Zoove provides content review and oversight services to guarantee that marketing efforts meet carrier guidelines and policies. Brands pay Zoove an annual fee for their StarStar Number--prices fluctuate based on the length and scarcity of the number.
The addition of Sprint and T-Mobile USA follows about nine months after Zoove inked similar deals with Verizon Wireless (NYSE:VZ) and AT&T (NYSE:T).
"Simplicity wins--every phone has a dialpad, and everyone knows how to make a voice call," Zoove President and CEO Joe Gillespie said in an interview with FierceMobileContent. "Carriers are rallying around our service because they're convinced it's a better use case."
