Zumobi expands widget platform

Mobile widget developer Zumobi announced its latest release for the Windows Mobile platform, introducing a series of new features and functionalities highlighted by Tile Wizard, which enables users to create their own widgets. According to Zumobi, users may select the look and feel of their widgets, stream data from RSS feeds of their choice and share personal blogs and other web content with friends.

In addition, the on-phone Tile Gallery enables consumers to select and upload tiles directly from their handset. A more streamlined client also promises faster Zumobi application downloads and a smaller on-phone footprint. Zumobi adds that later this month it will introduce new tiles for social networking sites Facebook and Twitter.
