Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) is a social network founded in 2004 by Chairman and CEO Mark Zuckerberg and fellow Harvard classmates Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. Facebook currently has apps for Apple's iOS, Google's Android and Blackberry, as well as the mobile Web. In addition, Facebook has separate apps including Facebook Messenger, Facebook Camera and most recently Facebook Home. Facebook operates photo-sharing social network app Instagram as a stand-alone entity. Facebook filed for an initial public offering in 2012. Its income for 2012 was $5.1 billion. As of the first quarter of 2013, Facebook boasts 751 million mobile monthly active users.
