Telefónica Digital has announced a deal with Samsung Electronics in a move that many are hailing as the most significant carrier billing agreement to date as it unites one of the world's largest operators with the world's biggest handset maker.

I want to preface this by saying that I think Samsung Electronics' Galaxy S4 is an incredibly well-designed smartphone with a handful of innovative features that will help it stand out in the market. Given that, along with Samsung's marketing budget and the massive array of operators it has lined up to sell the GS4, I have no doubt Samsung has a mega-hit on its hands, and will likely sell tens of millions of GS4 units.  What's more interesting to me is what the GS4 says about Samsung and its relationship to Google .

Samsung took the veil off its new Galaxy S4 smartphone, the new, top-of-the-line flagship smartphone from the world's largest vendor of handsets and smartphones. Importantly, the company is also promoting a range of Samsung-branded services and applications with the phone, including Samsung Hub, Samsung WatchON, Samsung Apps, Samsung ChatON and Group Play.
