Sprint will not sell flagship BlackBerry Z10 smartphone
Sprint Nextel will not sell the BlackBerry Z10, the company's flagship, touchscreen BlackBerry 10 smartphone, a move that makes Sprint the only Tier 1 U.S. carrier that will not carry the device. Sprint has committed to selling the BlackBerry Q10, which runs BB10 and has a Qwerty keyboard.

BARCELONA, Spain--M2M modem maker Sierra Wireless said it no longer is selling 2G modems in the U.S. market for long-term M2M applications. The company said that since major U.S. wireless carriers like AT&T Mobility and Verizon Wireless are planning to turn off their 2G networks sometime in the next 10 years, most M2M companies planning long-term deployments are opting for LTE network connections to ensure those connections will continue to work in the next decade.

BARCELONA, Spain--AT&T Mobility recently added Wi-Fi support to its "Enhanced Push-to-Talk (PTT)" service, allowing users to conduct PTT conversations on hotspots, and the carrier also released APIs for the service that will allow customers to add PTT functions to their applications. The efforts are part of the second phase of AT&T's PTT rollout, said M. Mobeen Khan, executive director of Advanced Mobility Solutions for AT&T Business Solutions.

General Motors will replace Verizon Wireless' service with AT&T Mobility's service in its OnStar offering beginning in 2014. The news represents a blow to Verizon, which has powered OnStar's service since it launched in the 1990s.
